Side-by-side facts
DHA & Omega-3 Products Compared: Fatty-Acid Amounts, Source & Evidence
Catalog-wide DHA and omega-3 comparison focused on the actual fatty-acid amounts, source, quality evidence and the main limitation of each product.
Key differences
Compare DHA and EPA themselves—not the headline fish-oil weight—and keep pregnancy evidence separate from unrelated outcome claims.
| Product | Relevant for | Research status | Main tradeoff | Last checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA | Pregnant people whose diet/care plan calls for supplemental DHA | Third party quality documented | Strong purity, freshness and traceability signals, but it is a DHA product rather than a complete prenatal and finished-product outcome evidence is limited. | 2026-08-11 |
Use Prenatal, Postnatal & DHA when pregnancy or postpartum nutrition is the decision context.
Compare DHA/EPA amount, source and intended use
Compare the actual DHA and EPA amounts per serving before total fish-oil or algal-oil weight. Two products can list similar oil weights while delivering different fatty-acid amounts. Source, serving size, contaminant or oxidation controls, lot documentation and whether the product is a prenatal add-on or a stand-alone omega-3 also matter.
The intended outcome matters just as much as the bottle. Pregnancy and postpartum nutrition are different evidence questions from cardiovascular, triglyceride or general-wellness claims. A product that is well documented for one context should not inherit benefits demonstrated for another dose, population or fatty-acid mix. The table is therefore a specification aid, not a universal ranking.
