Side-by-side facts
Hooga PRO300 vs BIOMAX 450: Technical Differences
A source-backed comparison of the compact two-wavelength Hooga PRO300 and the larger seven-wavelength BIOMAX 450, with manufacturer documentation and independent LightLab measurements kept distinct.
Key differences
Hooga PRO300 is the smaller two-wavelength panel in this pair and has a manufacturer manual listing 60 dual-chip LEDs, a 60° beam angle and 112 W power consumption. BIOMAX 450 is larger, publishes seven wavelength bands, and has linked LightLab measurements for a submitted sample. The evidence bases are not interchangeable and this page does not name a winner.

Each column uses one defined specification. Missing comparable data stays missing rather than being replaced with a differently defined manufacturer number; source labels distinguish manufacturer material from independent measurement.
What is directly comparable
The clearest like-for-like differences are physical size and published optical architecture. Hooga PRO300 is listed in the HGPRO manual at 12.7 × 8.6 × 3.1 inches, with 60 × 5 W dual-chip LEDs, 660 / 850 nm wavelengths and a 60° beam angle. BIOMAX 450 is manufacturer-listed at 19 × 12 × 3 inches and publishes 480 / 630 / 660 / 810 / 830 / 850 / 1060 nm wavelength bands.
Those are hardware facts. A larger enclosure, more published wavelength bands or a different beam geometry does not by itself establish a better clinical outcome.
Electrical figures use different evidence bases
Hooga’s HGPRO manual lists 112 W power consumption for the PRO300. PlatinumLED publishes 260 W nominal power consumption for BIOMAX 450, while a linked LightLab report records 253.8 W measured electrical power at 119.9 Vac for the submitted BIOMAX 450 sample.
These values are deliberately shown under separate stable keys. A manufacturer manual value is not relabeled as an independent measurement, and an independent sample measurement is not generalized beyond its stated test conditions.
Independent optical measurement is available only for the BIOMAX record
A linked LightLab report for a submitted BIOMAX 450 sample records 40.98 mW/cm² average and 41.03 mW/cm² center irradiance in the 600–700 nm band at 6 inches, using the report’s stated grid and laboratory protocol.
The current Hooga PRO300 record does not contain a normalized independent measurement under the same definition and protocol. The comparison therefore shows the missing value rather than substituting a manufacturer irradiance claim measured under potentially different conditions.
Documentation and regulatory-language differences
Hooga’s source trail includes an HGPRO Series user manual and a separate quality page that explicitly distinguishes facility or component certifications from finished-panel status; the normalized record does not claim finished-panel 510(k), UL or ETL status. The BIOMAX 450 source trail includes manufacturer specifications plus independent LightLab hardware reports, but no current primary user manual is normalized in the record.
That difference matters because documentation depth can vary independently from device performance. Homeapotherapy reports what each source actually establishes instead of treating a missing document as proof that a feature is absent.
Evidence boundary
Homeapotherapy has not hands-on tested either panel under a common protocol. A fairer empirical comparison would apply the same spectroradiometer, distance, grid geometry, electrical instrumentation, thermal conditions, acoustic measurements and setup observations to both devices. Until that evidence exists, this page reports sourced technical differences without a purchase recommendation.
