A transparent synbiotic built around the same disclosed S. boulardii CNCM I-745 strain as Florastor Dual Action, plus 600 mg chicory-root inulin per two-capsule serving. The probiotic identity is strong; the small inulin dose should not be mistaken for proof of a clinically meaningful prebiotic effect in the finished product.

Fit signals

People comparing a strain-identified yeast probiotic that also contains a small amount of prebiotic fiber, Shoppers who want to see the probiotic and prebiotic quantities instead of a proprietary blend

Potential constraints

People who react poorly to inulin or other fermentable fibers, People with yeast allergy or high-risk clinical situations where live-yeast probiotics require clinician review

Key tradeoff: Very good ingredient transparency, but the finished synbiotic has a weaker evidence bridge than the underlying CNCM I-745 strain.

This is a factual fit-and-tradeoff summary, not a product recommendation. Formula, device and brand claims remain manufacturer claims unless the cited source is explicitly regulatory or independent testing.

Florastor Advanced Pro + Pre combines Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745 with chicory-root inulin.

The label makes both components easy to identify, but ingredient transparency and finished-product efficacy are separate questions.

Formula per two capsules

The current label lists:

  • 500 mg S. boulardii CNCM I-745;
  • 600 mg chicory-root inulin;
  • less than 1 g total dietary fiber.

The strain identity and inulin amount are both explicitly stated.

Evidence for the combined formula

A synbiotic contains both a live microorganism and a substrate intended to support microorganisms. That definition does not establish that the finished combination works better than either component alone.

The World Gastroenterology Organisation and other expert sources emphasize matching probiotic and prebiotic evidence to the actual strain or substrate, dose and outcome.

For this product, the clearest evidence connection is the CNCM I-745 strain identity. No qualifying randomized outcome trial was identified in the sources reviewed showing that adding 600 mg of inulin to this retail formula produces a clinically meaningful advantage.

What 600 mg of inulin means

This product provides 0.6 g of inulin per two capsules. Prebiotic trials often use gram-level doses, and results from substantially larger inulin doses should not be transferred to this amount without direct evidence.

Inulin is fermentable and can cause gas or bloating, particularly in people with IBS or sensitivity to fermentable carbohydrates.

Professional-guideline context

AGA guidance lists S. boulardii as one of several probiotic options for prevention of C. difficile infection in people receiving antibiotics. That guidance does not endorse this brand and does not show that the added-inulin formula is superior to a simpler S. boulardii product.

Safety

Severe illness, marked immune compromise and central venous catheters change the risk profile for live-yeast probiotics. Yeast allergy is also a reason to avoid the product.

Comparison with the simpler Florastor formula

Compared with Florastor Dual Action, the distinguishing feature here is the added 600 mg of inulin. The sources reviewed do not establish a finished-product clinical advantage from that addition.

For larger, trial-matched prebiotic-fiber doses, compare Tomorrow’s Nutrition Sunfiber and Bimuno Original.
