MitoMID 2.0: Technical Specifications & Independent Lab Data
Source-backed MitoMID 2.0 specifications with LightLab wall draw, radiant power and six-inch irradiance measurements, plus an explicit source-dimension conflict.
A 100-LED two-wavelength Original 2.0 panel with current manufacturer specifications and manufacturer-hosted LightLab measurements for the tested MitoMID 2.0 sample.
mid-size two-wavelength panel comparisons, buyers comparing independent wall draw and optical output
buyers expecting all manufacturer and lab metadata to be internally identical, anyone inferring clinical superiority from irradiance alone
Key tradeoff: The independent output record is detailed, but the current LightLab index and retail page disagree on panel height, so Homeapotherapy keeps the current retail dimension and flags the mismatch.
This is a factual fit-and-tradeoff summary, not a product recommendation. Formula, device and brand claims remain manufacturer claims unless the cited source is explicitly regulatory or independent testing.
The MitoMID 2.0 is a 100-LED, two-wavelength panel in Mito Red Light’s Original 2.0 family. The current retail page lists 660 / 850 nm, 150 W published power, a 1–20 minute timer, and 19 × 9 × 3 in dimensions.
What the independent hardware record adds
Mito’s current independent-test index reproduces LightLab International results for a MitoMID 2.0 sample tested on July 6, 2023. It reports 170.3 W measured wall draw, 62.5 W total radiant power, 56.8 mW/cm² average irradiance and 75.8 mW/cm² peak irradiance at six inches under the stated Area Below LEDs methodology.
These are independent hardware measurements reproduced on a manufacturer-hosted index. They should not be treated as Homeapotherapy measurements or as clinical efficacy evidence.
The dimension sources do not currently agree
The current product page and comparison table list the MitoMID 2.0 as 19 × 9 × 3 in, while the current independent-test index labels the MitoMID 2.0 24 × 9 in. The structured record uses the current retail dimension for the physical specification and explicitly flags the conflicting lab-index metadata rather than silently harmonizing the two.
What remains unknown
Homeapotherapy has not repeated the LightLab measurements, confirmed which dimension entry reflects the tested chassis, or measured thermal and acoustic behavior under a common cross-brand protocol.

What the current record does not establish
- The current product page lists 19 × 9 × 3 in while the independent-test index labels the device 24 × 9 in; the source conflict is unresolved.
- Homeapotherapy has not repeated the LightLab measurements.
- Hardware output is not clinical efficacy evidence.
A missing field is not evidence that the device lacks the feature or performs poorly. It means we do not currently have a sufficiently comparable, sourced value in the normalized record.
Source labels preserve provenance. Manufacturer specifications, ingredient lists and performance claims are not treated as independent clinical evidence; regulatory records and independent measurements are identified separately when available.
Dose and irradiance context
What the output number means over time
Fluence is a calculation, not a treatment recommendation. For continuous output, fluence in J/cm² equals irradiance in mW/cm² × seconds ÷ 1000. The calculation only remains meaningful at the measurement conditions used for the irradiance value.

These figures are arithmetic translations of one independently measured area-average irradiance. They are not suggested session lengths, target fluences or evidence that the same irradiance reaches tissue at a different distance, body contour, device mode or treatment geometry.
What this calculation still cannot tell you
- whether this is an effective dose for any condition;
- how irradiance changes at a different distance or across curved anatomy;
- how much energy reaches tissue below the surface;
- whether a study used the same wavelength distribution, spot size, pulse mode or treatment schedule;
- whether peak irradiance would produce the same area exposure as the average value shown here.

Clinical evidence context
Where these wavelengths overlap with human research
Published device wavelengths: 660 / 850 nm (50/50).
This is a hardware-to-literature cross-reference, not a claim that this product treats any condition. A matching nominal wavelength does not reproduce a study's irradiance, dose, distance, treatment area, emitter geometry, schedule or patient population.
Research areas worth checking
- Pattern hair loss — human studies commonly use visible-red wavelengths, especially around the mid-600 nm range.
- Acne and inflammatory skin — red-light protocols exist, but acne studies may also use blue light and should not be generalized from panel specs.
- Skin rejuvenation and photoaging — visible-red and red/NIR LED protocols have been studied with varied devices and endpoints.
- Knee osteoarthritis — near-infrared wavelengths appear in the clinical literature, but wavelength alone does not establish an equivalent treatment protocol.
- Muscle recovery and musculoskeletal pain — research spans red and near-infrared bands with substantial protocol variation.
- Transcranial PBM and cognition — some research uses near-infrared wavelengths, but a body panel is not automatically equivalent to a head-targeted transcranial device.
- See the full wavelength-by-condition evidence chart for evidence strength, treatment geometry and major caveats.
Do not infer from wavelength overlap
- that this device is clinically proven for the linked condition;
- that more wavelengths are better;
- that the highest published irradiance is the best dose;
- that an open wound should be treated with a consumer device without appropriate wound assessment.
For wounds specifically, start with the wound-care safety decision guide before interpreting any device specification.
Safety first
What should make you slow down?
Use the product as directed, avoid treating concentrated wellness products as automatically harmless, and ask a qualified clinician when your situation or medication use makes the decision less routine.
